Get ready to meet some extraordinary ordinary women! Yes, that's right. These women are extraordinary in their zeal and devotion to the Lord, yet they are ordinary in the sense that they could be either you or me. They are sisters, mothers, daughters, friends or next door neighbors. Their stories are incredibly inspirational and completely unforgettable.
Rebecca St. James had an excellent idea when she decided to collect these personal accounts! The women within these pages range from the historical to the contemporary. Their stand for the Lord came in various ways and in different parts of the world. Each story is short, but is packed with power. An appropriate Scripture verse follows each one and will give readers pause for reflection.
This book would make an excellent devotional! The accounts are divided into twelve-week periods with five stories per week. Each week's reading ends with a series of insightful questions, thereby giving readers a chance to apply the truths of these tales to their own lives and see where the Lord is leading them. This interactive approach certainly adds a depth and a personal touch to the book.
The emotions within these pages range from terror to triumph to everything in between. There is a real sense of God actively working in these women's lives. Everyone who reads this book will long for the type of fearless strength shown here. This collection of stories is more than motivational; it's downright contagious!
Sister Freaks brings girl power to a whole new dimension!
