The Page of Cups represents a time when we need to step back and consider, to not look before we leap. Reversed it also represents troubles are coming and tests we need to deal with.
Emmie didn't want to go with Lucie McIntyre as she went looking in unlocked rooms at the Lakeside Hotel. When Emmie went away, Lucie kept up, entering the Lake Breeze Suite. In it, she spotted an ugly statue amid the beauty of the room. Then she heard a noise, causing her to scamper further in the suite. When she feels safe, she takes the statue and leaves, only to be almost caught by a man who walks towards the suite. He questions her moments later on whether or not she's seen someone. The man, Carl Henderson escorts her to the Beach Club.
They don't quite get there, but instead he kisses her. Again, he questions her if she's seen anything and Lucie denies knowing anything. There is something that makes her want to give back the statue, but even more, there's something undeniable between her and Carl. Things explode between them, but what about what he was asking her about- about anyone being in the suite, about a dark haired man?
Things get hectic when Lucie finds out the truth about who Carl is. What can she do? Does she want him back? Especially once he finds the statue in her handbag? Can he forgive her for lying?
Evelyn Starr has created a great story that leaves you hanging to find out what happens next. I can't tell you the ending, but know that you'll be like..."That's it?!" It's a good ending for the story, but enough to make you want to find Evelyn and beg for more. (This is a begging moment, be warned. LOL) Truly a unique and different feel, this story truly makes you take a moment to consider what you're doing and see if we're willing to face the troubles and make things work out.

Sarah Sutton had heard the coyotes for as long as she could remember. She gets hit by a shock of heat lightning outside of Bangkok, New Mexico. When a gorgeous man asks if she's okay, she's almost bowled over until she sees what's behind him- a flying saucer. Yet Ralph Watkins is in need of doing damage control. Trying to control Sarah proves to be a lesson to Ralph as she's just as single-minded as he is. Between them is an overly heightened awareness as is the mutual distrust.
This story is exciting and electric as Ralph tries to cover up his identity while Sarah struggles to keep her wits in place, even when her body wants his. For Sarah, it seemed that all the heartbreak, pain and suffering she'd incurred to this point was to guide her to Ralph. Though she isn't one for predestination, at this one moment, she's tempted even as she's determined to remember what she's seen. Ralph has found the one he'd been waiting for his whole life, yet could he let it be? Could he make her forget or would their attraction prove to be more?
Evelyn Starr does a tremendous job using The Chariot Tarot in this story. You learn about the strength of both characters and how their strengths and weaknesses are in a way related, but help them both to want more for themselves and each other. You fall in love with both characters and are rooting to see what happens next. I wish it had continued further on, but that's the nature of these Tarots...to tempt and give you a glimpse of what's in store, but not to tell you the whole journey. You'll enjoy reading One Night in Bangkok for its flair and passion within the realm of the stars and our world.
