Andrew Mayhem is back. Andrew has been working fairly steadily at the same job, and although he doesn't enjoy it, he knows after his last two adventures, it is time to be an adult and become responsible. Starting with a family vacation, including Roger and his new girlfriend. Unfortunately, his attempts at responsibility backfire as, once again, they are caught up in a game of murder and mayhem, but this time the danger is worse than ever, and even he is at a loss of how to get out.
This latest installment in the Andrew Mayhem series was the darkest of them all. Andrew is his same old self, using humor to attempt to diffuse tense situations, but the situations were more tense than usual, endangering not only Roger, but his entire family. I found the villains in the book to be extra disturbing, and I found myself thinking about changing my plans to go camping next month. Although I enjoyed this story, I missed the lighter atmosphere of the previous two novels.

Andrew Mayhem is back. He wants to be a normal, average guy, but it just isn't working out quite right. Someone with a large scimitar that likes to behead his victims is hunting him and everyone he knows. But that's not the worst of it.
Somehow Andrew gets tied up in an attempt to stop another murder, and finds himself in the middle of Alaska with a group of sociopaths that all believe he is the infamous Headhunter, there to play in their games of blood and death. And now poor Andrew has to save not only himself and his best friend Rogers, but 12 other prisoners awaiting their death.
Mr. Strand has a scary, sick, hilarious imagination. I was amazed how Andrew managed to get out of some of the situations he was in, without making me go, "Okay, now isn't that convenient?" the way we all find ourselves doing at more poorly written books. I didn't think I would enjoy this one as much as I did the first, but I was pleasantly surprised, in that I enjoyed it even more. Any book about a group of mass murdering sociopaths that can make me laugh out loud is worth its weight in gold.
