The Road to Unafraid is paved with the physical and spiritual journeys of the Army's Top Ranger, Captain Jeff Struecker. Readers will go behind enemy lines with this remarkable man, as he battles for his country with the skills of a soldier and the faith of a committed Christian.

This first-person account is written with clarity and conviction. As the author recounts his life from a young boy to a military hero, a genuine sense of humility is felt, which endears him to his reading audience. His training to become part of the elite fighting force, the Rangers, is described with a controlled sense of excitement. Readers are given appropriate explanations of military terms and procedures, but at no time are they overwhelmed with unfamiliar jargon. The descriptions of army maneuvers and missions inform with a determined purpose of moving the account along and providing necessary details.

Most noteworthy is the author's emotional angle to this story. Although Rangers are known for their extreme acts of bravery and courage, readers are shown a more human side. As Captain Struecker understands his identity in Christ, he realizes the aching void between mortality and immortality. At this point in the narrative, there is a steadfast urgency to convey the life-changing message of Jesus Christ to those around him. His decision to become a Chaplain not only crowns this story with an honorable accomplishment; it also seems to start a new adventure in his life.

In a profound combination of human courage and Christian compassion, The Road to Unafraid reveals the truth of an everlasting victory!
