Having read all the Mary Poppins books as a child, I enjoy reading them with my children. When Mary Poppins in the Kitchen crossed my desk, I knew my entire family was in for a treat. More than just a storybook, Mary Poppins in the Kitchen is also a cookbook. Take my word for it, cooking with children has never been so much!

Mr. and Mrs. Banks are off on holiday and due to a family emergency the cook is also away, leaving Mary Poppins to not only look after the children, but also preparing meals. With the children’s help, meals are prepared with joy and laughter, not to mention unexpected guests.

To say my children love this book is a bit of an understatement. They constantly refer back to Mary Poppins in the Kitchen as we plan the menu for the upcoming week. The recipes are not complicated and are filling and tasty. An unexpected side effect of using this book, there is no more fighting about eating the food that is served.

Tastier than a spoonful of sugar, Mary Poppins in the Kitchen is a delightful read!
