Claire O'Malley was a reporter who liked to write undercover stories. At a party celebrating her latest story, she sees a friend who tells her about Companionship, Inc. Claire decides that she would get a job as escort and write about how Companionship Inc was probably just supplying women to rich men for sex. The next thing she knows she has taken a double-dare bet that she couldn't seduce her first client into having sex with her. The best was for $500 and matching season tickets for the Stars games to go with the tickets she had already won.

Walleye Joe was not really what he seemed. He had come to town as a guest speaker on ice fishing. At six foot-five he looked more like a retired football player than a legendary ice fisherman. Finding out that the director had hired him an escort did not sit well with him. The last thing he wanted was woman. He had already learned his lesson: women were trouble. He had tried to get rid of her before the dinner but she would have none of it. Now here he was sitting at dinner with a gorgeous woman who was making him forget his no woman rule. The next thing he knew he asked her to be his escort for dinner the next time.

At dinner the next night Claire couldn't resist asking Mr. Morgan about his involvement in his accountant's death. Now Joe knows that she is a reporter and thinks she was just using him to get a story. At the end of the evening, someone tries to attack Claire. Can Joe save Claire from the mess she has gotten herself in? Will Claire win her bet? Will she get her real story?

I have ready five stories now by Ms. Veers and I still can't tell which one is my favorite. Double-dare Claire has a taste of suspense to keep you reading. It's amazing what trouble a little escort can get into when there is a man involved. Don't pass up this series, as each story is great. I loved when Claire realized the Joe was not just an ice fisherman. A great sexy read.
