As I sat at the computer preparing to write this review, I suddenly wondered what I would say. What is there to say about a book already heavily praised?
With text straight from the King James Version Bible, you can't say the story is original, but every time I read The Nativity to my children I feel as though I've never read it before. The credit for that belongs solely to the illustrator, Julie Vivas. Her illustrations are remarkable, realistic but possess a fairytale quality. Delicate yet emphatic. I could go on forever. Vivas' skill is extraordinary and it brings The Nativity to life. This is a book to be cherished for generations.
