Corinne considered herself a fairly unbiased person, but there was no way in the world she was going to get mixed up with another species. Human that was the only species she would date or even have sex with. She didn't want anyone to misunderstand; she didn't have a problem with vampire, werewolves or any other type of creature from the Council of Others. It's just that she was sure she could never get used to the fact the fairy-tale characters were real. How often did you and your friends run across a vampire and a werewolf?

An investigative reporter, Corinne was currently fuming. After hearing several reports of "leprechaun" sightings, her boss wanted her to do a story it. She couldn't believe it, especially when her boss told her at least he hadn't sent her to investigate the so-called vampire and werewolf sightings. To make matters worse, her close friend Ava had called asking if there were such things as faeries and had there been any sightings in Manhattan.

Lucifer or Luc was the Captain of the Fae Queen's guard. His latest assignment was to go into Ithir, the mortal realm, and retrieve the Queen's missing nephew Seoc. Normally, Seoc just visited Ithir for a bit of fun, but now he was careless and mortals had seen him using his magic. Wary of mortals to begin with, they had to stop Seoc before it got to out of hand and mortals learned of their existence. Luc's only chance of success was to ask the Council of Others for their help.

Rafael De Santos, the current lead Council member and werejaguar, suggests Luc ask Corinne for help. An investigative reporter, she would already know about the sightings and be able to help him. There was just one catch; he couldn't let her know he wasn't human. Non-humans made her wary and if she ever learned Luc lied to her, well... that was his problem.

Luc didn't expect to be violently attracted to Corinne. His entire life he'd considered humans as attractive, but they couldn't even begin to compare to the Fae. So why couldn't he keep his hands off this one? Seeing the matching desire in Corinne's eyes and Luc knew he was doomed.

One night of intense passion and Luc knew without a doubt Corinne was his heartmate, the other part of his soul. Unfortunately, this also meant she could see past the glamour he used to hide his Fae heritage. Begrudgingly, Corinne agrees to help, but wants him gone the moment the investigation is finished. The last thing she needed or wanted was a non-human entanglement. Luc's statement that he wasn't ever going to leave both worried and excited her.

Can these two completely different people put aside their differences and work together before Seoc exposes the Faerie realm to the inhabitants of Ithir? And will Corinne be able to get past Luc's heritage and find a love to last several lifetimes?

Another keeper from the talented Christine Warren. I have loved every book in the Fixed series and Fighting Faer is no exception. The amount of intense, palpable sexual tension, the incredible erotic love scenes and the otherworldly creatures make for an unforgettable story. To make it even better, Ms. Warren gives her readers a remarkable heroine, strong, capable and sure of herself. A perfect alpha heroine who is tamed only by her destined alpha hero. The world of the Fixed series continues to gain depth and vitality and I'm looking forward to the rest of this series. Run, don't walk to your computer and purchase Fighting Faer. You won't regret it.

Danice Carter wanted a man. A human man. She didn't want a vampire, shapeshifter or any other member of the Council of Others. Her perceptions had been decidedly altered when two of her friends had married a vampire and a werewolf, respectively. Unfortunately, her newest lover was anything but human.

It all started while at a restaurant bar, waiting on a friend to join her for dinner. Her friend calls to cancel and someone looking like he stepped out of a Tolkien novel offered to make her fantasies reality. She gave him a polite, "no, thank you" and went home, the incident completely forgotten. During the night, she awakens to find herself next to a well-muscled man who proceeds to drive her into the arms of ecstasy. Her last thought before drifting back to sleep was something was decidedly wrong.

Waking up that morning draped over her sexual partner, Danice learns they are in some sort of limbo and her partner is only half-human. Will her longing for a human partner destroy her chance for happiness with the very handsome, sexy McIntyre Callahan, who just happens to be half Fae? And just how did they end up in bed together, in limbo? More to the point, how will they get out?

Completely awesome. Faer-Fetched, while short, was a magnificent story and a marvelous addition to Christine Warren's Fixed series. In a romantica novella, it is often hard to find dimensional characters; however Danice and Mac came to life beautifully. I felt that I knew them personally. Ms. Warren's scorcher of a new release is destined for my keeper shelf.
