Jayden Parrish is suffering in the summer heat in the South, but even with her grandmother calling and speaking about the Demon Wind, a superstition, can't make the day any cooler. It's said that the Demon Wind could take your virginity and more if you were out during its appearance. She promises her Grams that she'll stay inside for the night and thinks nothing more about it.

Yet, something awakens Jayden in the night and she's not quite sure what it is. What happens is like a dream gone wrong, meeting a man not unlike Poseidon and mating with him in a primal way. The next day, Jayden oversleeps and is not sure what's real anymore. She takes her Grams to her doctor appointment and meets her new doctor, the man whom she had a seriously intent sexual encounter the night before. He wasn't a god, but sure as hell looks like one.

Dr. Tyce Cantrell is the new doctor in town and he can't explain his bizarre behavior from last night either. Later that night when they compare notes, the only thing they can come up with is the superstition about the Demon Wind as their experiences are so parallel. As they look into it, the attraction that was there, starts up once again. Is it the Demon Wind or something else now at work? What caused them to act out that first night? Can they find the answers they're looking for?

Kay Wild has given us an erotic view of a superstition and how it can be for the benefit, not just detriment. That sometimes superstitions are built because of love for another. This erotic, yet well crafted love story is definitely a keeper for on those hot sultry nights when you wish for a way to keep cool, or even perhaps to be visited by the Demon Wind.
