He knows his days are numbered as he is aging every day and his health is not very good. He built his business from the ground up and he would hate to see it go to someone who would not take care of it as he had. He has family members that he could leave the business to but only nieces, nephews, cousins, and a brother, no children of his own, and he could see the business not lasting more than a year or two with any of them. He comes up with an idea that will involve his two protégés, Tracie Edwards and Galen Walters. His plan is to have Tracie become pregnant and marry him to give him an heir and he believes that Galen is the best man to give her a child. When he discusses this with the two of them, they hit it off almost instantly. Will they be able to fulfill their old friend's wish? I found The Heir to be an excellently written short full of high emotion. The feelings that Tracie and Galen have for each other are more stronger than anyone realizes. It was finally spring break and she was going to do something about her problem. She had rented a man for the week. He was to do everything she wanted. And she wanted to dominate for once. So she went to her brother's remote cabin and started setting up the scene for her big week. Who would have thought the hunk of a man that arrived at her door claiming to be a cop would be just what she was looking for. Gabriel Vaughan was a deputy for the Los Angeles Police Department. He had been chasing Jesse Lazar. He had left a path of destruction since a bank heist in LA. He had followed Jesse to Bishop and found his car stuck in the snow. Finding a body in snow, he figured Jesse had claimed another victim. Following the car tracks up to a remote cabin he knocked on the door. The next think he knew he was handcuffed with his own handcuffs and tied to the floor with a sexy woman doing things to him he had only dreamed about. Teacher's Pet is delightful funny quickie. I can just imagine what Marci felt when she realized that Gabriel was a real cop. I loved Gabriel; he was strong but not afraid to play what ever game Marci wanted.
