Wedding Bell Blues offers a kaleidoscope of lovable characters and a sweet romance. After sixteen years, Alex Butler thought she was over her rock star husband, Josh Turner, who left her suddenly and with no explanation. Yet, when he walked back into her hometown, apparently to stay, she felt a familiar twang of hope mixed with heartache. As Alex tries to put the past behind her and focus on her sister's upcoming wedding, memories mingle with the present to whisper a song she knew all too well.

This first book in the Piper Cove Chronicles highlights the lifelong friendships of four women who grew up in this tiny town on the eastern shores of Maryland. Each one left this community to pursue college degrees and careers, but all of them returned, determined to make a home in the one place on earth that holds their hearts. This series will focus on each one respectively, as their story lines trace paths from their desires to their destinies.

Wedding Bell Blues starts this series off nicely, introducing the main characters with enough information to make them interesting, but leaving out some details that will make readers want to return and get to know them better. In this story, Alex Butler and her ex-husband, Josh Turner take center stage, as the pages describe their past relationship through memories and insightful dialogue. There is a delicious tension drawn between these characters, as readers understand both the physical and emotional attraction this woman and man still have for each other.

Added to this, is the gentle presence of basic Christian truths, shaping the responses and reactions of these characters. This aspect of the story line had a genuine feel, as both Alex and Josh seek the highest level of love for themselves and in respect to God. Their devotion to each other and their commitment to the truth bring their romantic attraction to a place of purity, forgiveness and a future with no regrets.

Wedding Bell Blues has a lovely ring to it!
