A young hippo lives a quiet life with his mother until a giant tsunami separates them. Will he ever find a home and a mother again? I can't read this book (especially the ending) without blinking back tears. The illustrations are simple, yet evocative and emotional. They also encourage parents and children to tell the story in their own words. My children love this book, especially my youngest. I often find her reading this to her stuffed animals.
